Frequently asked questions

How managed testing coordination actually works.

516Labs is the operating layer between a real testing requirement and qualified, completed laboratory work. These answers explain what we do, what the performing laboratory does and what information moves a request forward.

Is 516Labs an analytical laboratory?

No. 516Labs is a managed testing coordination service of Lumens Technologies Corp. Analytical work is performed by identified qualified partner laboratories that remain responsible for their original reports.

What can I send to start a request?

Send an RFP, permit, sampling plan, specification, testing table or plain-language description. Include the project/sample location, matrix, methods or analytes if known, sample count, intended use and required date.

How does 516Labs select a laboratory?

Qualification considers the exact method, matrix, analytes, reporting limits, jurisdiction, accreditation, receiving, holding time, capacity, turnaround, logistics and commercial readiness. Price does not override technical fit.

Can 516Labs arrange sampling?

Where sampling is part of the requirement, 516Labs can coordinate qualified field providers. Professional, certified or regulated sampling remains the responsibility of the appropriately qualified party.

Can consultants use 516Labs for proposal pricing?

Yes. Consultants and engineers can send the laboratory portion of an RFP or project scope. 516Labs structures the requirement, obtains qualified provider quotes and helps convert the accepted route into execution if the project is awarded.

Does 516Labs support government testing?

Yes, primarily through a partner-first model supporting eligible primes, consultants and qualified laboratories. 516Labs does not claim agency approval or bidder eligibility that has not been independently verified.

Who issues the laboratory report?

The performing laboratory issues its own report. 516Labs coordinates status, exceptions and delivery while preserving the provider identity and original evidence.

Can every test be ordered immediately online?

No. Regulated, professional-sampling, construction, government, hazardous-material and unusual-matrix scopes require manual review and an executable provider quote before award.

Does 516Labs choose the cheapest laboratory?

No. Technical fit and an executable route come first. Commercial comparison is meaningful only after the laboratory location is qualified for the exact project.

Where does 516Labs operate?

516Labs uses a nationwide, demand-weighted partner model with New York commercial control. Actual availability depends on the project location, required credentials, laboratory capacity and logistics.

Still have a scope question?

Send what you know.

Incomplete requirements are acceptable. 516Labs will identify what must be clarified before pricing.
